A Rough guide to househuntingAccommodation Services

Residential Support Crew now being recruited for 2010/11

Accommodation Services offers a friendly free service to help you find the right place to live in Sheffield. There's no need to book an appointment, just drop in during office hours or call, fax or email us using the details below.

Remember...

The amount of time needed to find a place to live varies considerably and is mostly dependent on your requirements and the time of year. August and September are particularly busy.

Specialist and knowledgeable staff at the centre can advise on any accommodation problem. It doesn't matter where you are living, or hoping to live. All advice is given in complete confidence.

Student accommodationHousehunting Week

One of the best ways of finding a place to live in the private sector is to join the househunting event which we run in conjunction with Hallam Union before the start of the academic year, generally the first week in September. Minibus transport is provided to view properties, accompanied by an Accommodation Officer or member of our student crew who can offer advice and information. We can also organise cheap overnight accommodation if required. Househunting Week gives you a chance to see a bit of Sheffield and make a few friends in the process. It's not uncommon to find a housemate or two during your hunt. Usually one or two days is enough time to find a suitable property.

Sheffield Hallam University guarantees accommodation of a reasonable standard in either University owned, managed, partnership or private sector accommodation for all our students.
