How to avoid breaching the Code of Academic Conduct
be aware of and familiar with our procedures and expectations, e.g. the Examination Conduct Policy regarding expected behaviour in an examination
read guidance materials provided in your module or course as they will include information about academic conduct;
familiarise yourself with the correct referencing method for your Department
seek advice from your Module or Course Leader if you are unsure what is expected of you. When in doubt ask, and ask early. Don't leave it until the assessment due date
make use of the workshops, advice and support provided by The Skills Centre, the University English Scheme, and the many other online resources available
say no to people who encourage you to engage in academic misconduct, or ask you to assist them in doing so. Everyone in an academic community expects to be treated fairly. You need to be open and accountable in your learning practice so that you, and others, are assessed equally. Your reputation is important - protect it.
