How can I request to repeat an assessment attempt (RRAA)?

If you are experiencing difficulties which are having a significant impact on your ability to complete your assessments you may want to consider submitting a Request to repeat an assessment attempt (RRAA).

Before you do this we strongly advise speaking with your Faculty Student Services team.

You submit a RRAA via My Student Record - please watch the videos and read this guidance about the evidence required first.

Your request should be submitted within 5 working days of the coursework submission deadline or date of exam/assessment event and you should provide evidence to corroborate the nature and timing of your circumstances.

What happens next?

The Extenuating Circumstances Panel will consider the information you have provided and accept or decline your request. You will be informed of the Panel's decision by email. Find out more about the Extenuating Circumstances policy.

Disabled students

If your circumstances relate to your disability, mental health condition or medical condition and you have a learning contract then it may not be necessary to submit a RRAA – you should be supported through your learning contract.
