Disabled Students’ Allowances

DSAs help pay for the extra costs you may have as a direct result of your disability.

DSAs are available to both new and existing students. It does not matter if you study full-time or part-time. There is no age limit and they are not means-tested.

To receive DSAs you must fill out a DSA1 application form, available from your funding body.

After you have applied for DSA and your funding authority has written to you to say you are entitled to DSA, you will need to book a Study Needs Assessment.

These are the steps to getting your full disability support at SHU.
