Energy Costs Grant

The Energy Costs Grant is a fund to support students with rising energy costs. It is a one-off payment for eligible students who can demonstrate that they are contributing to an energy bill at their term time address.

Successful applicants will be awarded a one-off payment of £80.

The fund is strictly limited, and grants will be awarded on a first come, first served basis. The scheme will close when all available funds have been allocated.

To be considered for a grant you must:

  • Be fully enrolled during the 2022/23 academic year
  • Be living in the UK
  • Be able to prove you are contributing to an energy bill for your household
  • Have a UK bank account in your name

Students living in accommodation where gas and electricity is included within the rent are not eligible to apply, unless you can demonstrate that your rent has increased during this academic year due to rising energy costs.

You can apply regardless of any previous funding you may have received. International students can apply but must have a UK bank account. We cannot make payments to international bank accounts.
