Teacher Education Bursaries

All Teacher Education Bursaries have now been set up for the 2021/22 academic year.  If you have not been contacted by the Student Funding team, we do not believe you are eligible for a bursary.  However, if you think that you are eligible, please let us know by contacting Hallam Help.

To see if your course attracts a bursary/scholarship, please check the relevant guidance document. If it does, once you are fully enrolled onto your teacher education course and your course has started, you can claim your bursary/scholarship. To do this, you will need to complete a short form, so that we can collect your bank details and check what you are eligible for. Please note that primary education PGCE courses offered at Sheffield Hallam do not attract teacher education bursaries.

Before you start your claim, please ensure you have read, understood and accept the document relevant to the bursary you are claiming.

If you do not qualify for a teacher education bursary, you may be eligible to apply for the Student Success Scholarship.

How to claim

After reading the relevant guidance document, and if you are fully enrolled, click the button below to start your claim.

This will take you to UniHub. If this is the first time you have logged in to UniHub, you'll be asked to set your preferences. This is so that future information can be tailored to your specific needs. Visit the guide to UniHub page for more information.

Once you have set your preferences, you will be able to access the teacher education bursary/scholarship claim form. Please answer all of the questions and be sure to enter your bank details collectly (if you are prompted to provide them).

Claims for 2021/22 are now closed

After you have submitted your form, we will assess it against the Department for Education's eligibility criteria. Once we have done this, we will contact you using your Hallam email address with the outcome of your claim. We expect this to be within three weeks of you submitting your form, but it may be much sooner.
