How can I request to repeat an assessment attempt (RRAA)?

If you are experiencing difficulties which are having a significant impact on your ability to complete your assessments and you don't think a short extension will help, you may want to consider submitting a Request to repeat an assessment attempt (RRAA) via My Student Record. This is a request to undertake your assessment at a later date during the reassessment period (usually in July for standard courses).

Before you do this we strongly advise you to speak to your Faculty Student Services team and watch the guidance video to ensure that you understand how to submit a request and what documents you need. You must submit your request within 5 working days of the submission deadline / date of exam and upload evidence to corroborate the nature and timing of your circumstances.

The Extenuating Circumstances Panel will consider your request and you will be informed of their decision by email and MSR will also be updated. Further information is available within the Extenuating Circumstances Policy.

Disabled students

If your circumstances relate to your disability, mental health condition or medical condition and you have a learning contract then it may not be necessary to submit a RRAA – you should be supported through your learning contract. Again, we strongly advise you to speak to your Faculty Student Services team prior to submitting a RRAA.
