Lost property

Information for students, visitors and staff

- What you can expect from us

We keep found property safe and secure for up to one month, depending upon the nature of the item and its condition. All property handed in as lost is recorded and every effort is made to reunite it with the rightful owner.

There are some items that we will not accept, such as cash, perishable items, living things, and unhygienic items. Suspicious, soiled, broken or low value items may be disposed of immediately, and for security reasons bank cards may be securely destroyed the day they are found.

Property unclaimed after one month is donated to a local charity, recycled or disposed of appropriately.

- How to enquire about and claim your property

You can also make an enquiry about lost property via:

We keep a central record of lost property, so we'll be able to see if, when and where your property has been handed in.

When you collect your item, we’ll ask you to provide some personal ID and ask you a few questions about the item you’ve lost to verify that it belongs to you.

Please remember to put your name and contact details on your property so we can reunite you with it quickly if you misplace it.
