Social Sport and Leagues
Our social sport programme gives you the chance to take part in a huge range of fun, non-competitive sport sessions. It's a great opportunity to try something new, get active and have fun. All of our social sport is led by students!
We offer over 30 sessions in over 20 different sports every week. There's usually a coach on hand to help you learn new skills – or you can just turn up and play with your friends.
All internally hosted sessions are free to Hallam Active members and just £2.50 for non-members.
It's a great chance to try something new or meet new friends doing something you already love. Just take your pick from the timetable and give it a go. It really is the taking part that counts.
If you have a query about any of our social sport sessions, or wish to discuss individual needs, please email email@example.com or call us on 0114 225 3000.
We have a range of volunteering places in the programme, offering a great way to add experience to your CV. As a Student Sport Activator you'll help deliver the social sport sessions. It's a rewarding and fun role – and in return we’ll help to fund sport-related training like UKCC Coaching Awards to develop your skills. For more information contact the Social Sport team on 0114 225 3000 or call in at either Hallam Active reception.
As well as the regular weekly social sport sessions, we offer a number of Intramural leagues and tournaments throughout the year.
There are regular leagues this year in netball, football (men's 6-a-side / 11-a-side, women's 9-a-side, and mixed hockey.
The leagues are competitive but friendly, and anyone can join in the fun – you don't need previous experience.
