What happens if I am notified about an allegation of academic misconduct?
Where an allegation regarding your academic conduct in an item of coursework has been raised, you will be invited to a meeting of the Academic Conduct Panel. The purpose of this meeting is for the Panel to consider the allegation and your response. You will receive 10 working days' notice of a meeting and will be informed of your right to bring someone with you, to submit a written statement, and to submit any supporting evidence of mitigating circumstances.
Having considered all of the information, the Panel will decide whether:
to dismiss the allegation and take no further action
to conclude that this is a matter of poor academic practice and issue a Notice to Improve
uphold the allegation and issue a sanction
Where the allegation relates to an examination, then a Cheating Allegation Panel will consider your case. You will be asked to submit a written statement in response to the allegation for the Panel to consider.
Having considered all of the information, the Panel will decide whether:
to dismiss the allegation and take no further action
